The Life Cycle Materiel Manager liaises directly with the customer on component and system technical issues and ensures that all materiel support activities are conducted according to approved policy and procedures while reflecting an awareness of the customer’s requirements. Pay Rate: $66,000 – $96,000 annually

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

  • Maximizes the ongoing effectiveness, efficiency and economy of their assigned materiel through a co-coordinated effort from all departments.
  • Responsible for materiel support activities that span the four distinct managerial life cycle stages.
  • Support continuing maintenance requirements for mechanical and avionics systems and equipment: spares requirements, test equipment requirements, special support equipment requirements, technical publication requirements and continued airworthiness requirements.
  • Apply principles of Life Cycle Management in performing equipment/systems support activities.
  • Be a technical expert for the equipment/systems.
  • Maintain an overall knowledge of materiel acquisition and support functions.
  • Maintain liaison, at appropriate levels, with other staffs with which they share management responsibilities (supply and procurement).
  • Maintain an overall knowledge of the capability and capacity of support facilities (for modification, repairs and overhaul) including:
  • Workshops, bases and units
  • Contractors, manufactures and supplies
  • Engineering Test Establishments and other government facilities.
  • Maintain an overall currency in the state-of-the-art for their areas of responsibility.
  • Experience in disposing of material designated as “controlled goods” or “controlled technology”.
  • Implement actions to re-establish project performance to meet targets.
  • Advise management on issues of concern.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED IN ORDER TO QUALIFY:

  • Minimum 2 years’ recent experience (within the last 10 years) working on modern, complex highly integrated aircraft mechanical and electronic equipment and systems in one or more of the following areas:
  • Experience with the following systems: Flight guidance, control systems, Radar systems, Secure network systems, Electronic communication systems, Electro-optical or infrared systems, Simulators and trainers, Communications, radar, navigation and related systems, Mechanical systems such as Environmental Control Systems, Auxiliary Power Units, Canadian Forces Supply System, Powerplant systems, and/or hydraulic systems
  • Equipment Life Cycle Management (LCM)
  • ADAM and/or DRMIS
  • Technical investigations
  • A secondary school degree or diploma in a related field, the completion of an acceptable accredited technologist level program in electronics or aircraft systems at a technical institution, or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of regulatory requirements
  • Proven customer relationship skills
  • Good Initiative, productivity, and quality of work
  • Good Interpersonal skills – gets along well with others
  • Intermediate computer skills: word processing, spreadsheet and database programs

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $66,000.00-$96,000.00 per year
