We are hiring a Product Engineering Technician for an agricultural and construction machinery manufacturer in Pickering, Ontario!

The ideal candidate will have experience working with heavy machinery used in the agricultural and construction industries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate on market research for new product design requests, gaining insights into competitor products and positioning.
  • Manage projects from the prototype phase through testing, evaluation, final approval, and production(includes the preparation of all necessary documentation such as bilingual operator manuals, parts manuals, technical support documents, and engineering approval forms).
  • Provide technical training and support for newly launched products to internal employees.
  • Oversee in-field testing (includes:  cold-weather assessments and product comparisons, preparing competitive machines) as required.
  • Work closely with corporate engineers to ensure a thorough understanding of customer applications and product requirements to guarantee top-tier quality and performance.
  • Maintain accurate data in Smart-BOM
  • Ensure quick and effective resolution of technical issues for existing products.
  • Manage and update compatibility charts for cross-departmental reference.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience at a dealer level preferred
  • Hands-on experience with engines, powertrains, hydraulics, and electrical systems, particularly in the agricultural, turf, and construction machinery sectors.
  • Experience with designing and building heavy machinery highly desirable to the role
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication, listening skills, and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and diagnostic software.
  • A team player with the ability to work independently and contribute positively to group efforts.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30%, including opportunities for travel within Canada, the USA, and internationally.
  • A graduate from a technical college, with a Technician license in Farm Equipment or Heavy Equipment preferred.

Pay:

  • $80,000- $88,000
  • 14% bonus, extensive benefits package
  • 7% RRSP matching

Shift: 8:30am-4:30pm

Note: This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.
