About the Role:

  • The primary function of the project drafting coordinator is to manage assigned projects through the drafting process with all stakeholders to meet contractual requirements, project specifications, material, budgetary and scheduling requirements.      

Responsibilities will include:

  • Analysis of blueprints, plans, specifications and scope of work provided by client
  • Analyze configurations of basic to advanced components of a structure
  • Liaise with professional staff such as architects, engineers and customers
  • Use computer aided design technology for simulation purposes
  • Consider the strength of construction materials and select appropriately
  • Provide technical advice on safe designs and construction
  • Manage the project from start to finish addressing any problems that arise
  • Monitor and inspect all work undertaken by sub-contractors to ensure structural soundness
  • Perform material take-offs from architectural and structural drawings
  • Solicitation and evaluation of subcontractors based on price, quality, service and support
  • Preparation of final bid & supporting documents to submit to client


  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Registered with the Professional Engineers of Ontario and holding valid P.Eng. stamp
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Organization skills, problem solving, integrity, and task prioritization
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to lead a team, set deadlines and manage multiple projects
  • Ability to liaise with professionals from other disciplines
  • Demonstrate an understanding of revenue, cost, gross margin and cash management
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs (MS Outlook, Excel & Word)
  • Proficient in AutoCAD or other estimating software is an asset
  • Proficient in computer aided design for structural analysis
  • Expert experience in project management
  • Advanced knowledge of construction methods, materials and legal regulations
  • Sound understanding of physics and mathematics

Shift Details:

  • Day Shift:
    • 7:00am – 4:30pm Monday-Thursday
    • 7:00am – 3:30pm Friday

Location: Kitchener, ON

Job Types: Full-time

Salary: $80 – 130K per year based on experience
