Underground Foreman to lead field operations in our underground utility and earthworks projects. In this critical leadership role, you will be responsible for supervising crews, maintaining productivity, and upholding the highest standards in safety, quality, and efficiency.

Job Type: Seasonal

Salary: $50/hr

Shift Details: Monday-Saturday, every other Saturday off

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily construction activities on-site
  • Interpret and execute project plans, specifications, and schedules
  • Allocate labor, equipment, and materials to maximize productivity and meet deadlines
  • Lead toolbox talks, hazard assessments, and ensure OH&S compliance
  • Perform site inspections to monitor safety, quality, and progress
  • Train and mentor crew members; conduct performance evaluations
  • Enforce and model safe work practices across all job functions
  • Communicate regularly with superintendents and management on progress and concerns
  • Maintain accurate documentation using construction management tools (e.g., B2W, Bluebeam)
  • Coordinate with clients and represent the company professionally on-site
  • Oversee equipment and tool condition, onsite inventory, and ensure utility locates are completed
  • Submit reports, timesheets, and incident documentation as required

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of civil construction experience
  • Experience in underground utility and earthworks is essential
  • Proven leadership experience in a supervisory capacity
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Proficiency with construction tools, safety practices, and job site documentation
  • Ability to read blueprints, specifications, and job schedules
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Fluent in English (verbal, written, and hand signals)
  • Own CSA-approved steel-toe boots
  • Mus be able to pass D&A Test

  • Knowledge of OH&S regulations and underground construction methods
  • Ability to motivate crews and ensure a high-performance environment
  • Familiarity with shoring, sloping, and excavation safety standards

Working Conditions:

  • Outdoor construction environment with exposure to dust, noise, and varying weather
  • Ability to travel between sites or occasionally work out of town
  • Must be physically able to lift 50 lbs and perform physical tasks throughout the workday
