We are recruiting a detail-oriented and hands-on individual to develop Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for a local manufacturing operator in Aurora. This role involves working closely with floor staff across multiple departments to document each process step-by-step, ensuring a comprehensive, easy-to-follow procedural library for new and existing employees.
Compensation:
- TBD – based on experience
- Monday – Thursday 7:00AM – 3:30 PM

What You’ll Be Doing:
- Shadow and observe employees across various departments (e.g., Graphics, CNC Operation, Assembly, Packing) to fully understand the processes.
- Create clear, concise, and visually-supported documentation for each task and role.
- Develop Work Instructions and SOPs that include:
- Required tools and materials
- Detailed procedural steps
- Safety protocols
- Critical checks and tolerances
- Specifics such as fastener types, router bits, and equipment settings
- Work with supervisors and team leads to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Organize the documentation into an easily accessible procedure library for internal training and reference.
- Align documentation practices with ISO-style standards for process control and quality assurance.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience in technical writing, process documentation, or SOP development within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Ability to understand and explain mechanical tools, equipment, and production techniques.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively on the production floor.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Experience with photography or visual documentation tools is a strong asset.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems is a plus.
