Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow all safety procedures and protocols, including proper use of PPE
  • Inspect materials for correct rigging techniques and preparation for the galvanization process
  • Rack and un-rack steel parts using lifting devices such as hooks, chains, and wire
  • Handle customer products carefully, lifting items up to 50 lbs.
  • Inspect, clean, and repair any quality issues from the galvanizing process using wire brushes, files, and powered grinders
  • Package customer products securely using shrink wrap, nylon, or steel banding
  • Maintain a clean and safe workstation through effective housekeeping
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support team objectives

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the incumbent will perform maintenance and repair of all facility, production, packaging machinery and refrigeration equipment

Responsibilites

  • Quickly troubleshoot, diagnose and repair problems as they occur on any production equipment or the facilities and grounds.
  • Communicate and work in a teamwork environment with other maintenance personnel.
  • Follow preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Accurately report on all work performed, parts and tools used as well as work required for all plant equipment.

Skills/Experience/Education

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a licensed Millwright.
  • Valid Refrigeration “B” license for Ontario would be a strong asset.
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting knowledge.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to quickly troubleshoot and diagnose problems with machinery, systems and facilities.
  • Industrial plant maintenance experience including, but not limited to, the installation, maintenance, repair and overhaul of conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, rail assemblies, hydraulic assemblies, pneumatic assemblies and packaging machinery.
