Do you have an eye for detail and a passion for fresh, high-quality produce? We’re looking for a skilled Ripening Technician to take charge of our state of the art ripening program and help ensure our fruit is always at its peak when it reaches our customers.

This is a hands-on role where every day is different — from planning ripening cycles to working with the team and solving unique challenges. If you enjoy being a problem-solver, working with a supportive team, and making a visible impact on product quality, this role is for you!

Job Types:            Fulltime – Temporary to Permanent

Pay Rate:              Starting $22/hr. Varies based on Experience

Schedule:             Days and Weekends  

What You’ll Do

1. Take ownership of ripening programs. Manage temperatures, plan gassing cycles, and make sure fruit is ready on time for our customers.
2. Be the quality champion by auditing and testing fruit, catching issues early, and working with Sales and Warehouse teams to keep standards high.
3. Lead by example and train new team members, share your expertise, and help the department grow stronger every day.
4. Problem-solve and innovate – track discarded product, dig into the cause, and build prevention plans for the future.
5. Stay hands-on with equipment reporting, inventory checks, and maintaining a safe, clean, and organized workspace.
6. Working in confined space and/ or cold environments (travelling in/out of refrigerated (~4C).
7. Other duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven experience ripening fruit (produce knowledge is a must!)
• Solid computer skills — Microsoft Office and a willingness to learn our Warehouse Management System
• A detail-oriented problem-solver who can think ahead and stay organized
• A strong communicator and natural team player with a positive attitude
• Someone who can lift up to 50 lbs and thrives in a busy warehouse environment

Special Conditions Of Employment:

• This position involves standing, walking, heavy lifting, and repetitive tasks for extended periods.

• Must have CSA-approved safety boots
• Must be Health & Safety conscious
